I love the colour green. To me it symbolises freshness, calm, new life and nature. I studied teaching after school. When I finished my degree I had to put in preferences for where I would like to teach. I wanted to go somewhere green. I was thinking lush tropical north Queensland or the biodiverse South-East Queensland region. Instead my first teaching placement was in a mining town in Central Queensland. It wasn't far from home but a long way from the green I was chasing. Now I live on acerage and I work in a Centre surrounded by nature. I am always surrounded by green. It took a while but I got there in the end.
