The Blue Banded Bee is a regular visitor to my garden. Flying around with their striped blue underpants they always bring a smile to my face. But don’t let their high cutness score trick you. These bad boys are the headbangers of the bee world. They are among a handful of bees which perform buzz pollination. Essentially they rapidly bang their heads on a flowers anthers to release the pollen held deep within. Rock on!
