The Tawny Frogmouth is an interesting bird. They are called Tawny Frogmouths because their wide mouth looks a bit like a frog…supposidly. They are not owls and they are not good nest builders. However they are the masters of camouflage and even when I know they are around I often have trouble spotting them. Not sure if this is because of the colour of their plumage or because my eyes are getting older!
