Yellow is the lightest hue in the colour spectrum. It is the colour of sunflowers, lemons, cheese, corn and my all time favourite...bananas. It is a colour which symbolises joy, optimism, sunshine and happiness. It also reminds me of my lovely mum. It was her favourite colour. When she passed we placed yellow flowers in her coffin, tied yellow ribbons around the chapel and I wore a yellow dress. She would have loved it and I miss her every day.

Ochre yellow is the earthy cousin of my Mum’s favourite hue lemon yellow. It is the colour of eucalyptus leaves as they begin to break down and decompose. Everything in nature has it’s time and everything, including us, eventually returns to the bosom of mother earth.
