Catherine’s Story

Catherine lives in south-east Queensland on a small acerage block. She has always had a love of nature and travel and both these themes are reflected in her work. Raising children, working and generally just being an adult often doesn’t leave much time to do what you really love and it has only been recently that Catherine has rediscovered the joy of drawing and had the time to pursue it. She enjoys working in different mediums however much of the art for sale on this web-site has been drawn on her ipad using the programme Procreate.

Catherine has many interests including travel, camping, reading, drawing, exercising, learning new skills, gardening, bushwalking and spending time with family and friends. She works part-time in a job she loves and also volunteers in her local area. She is looking forward to seeing how her art evolves and hopes you will visit her web-site regularly and join her on her creative journey.

Now for the ChatGPT version….I especially like the last line. Wish I had thought of that!

Catherine Gordon is a contemporary artist whose work draws deeply from the natural world and the transformative experiences of travel. After a significant hiatus from her art, Catherine’s journey back to creativity was sparked by a life-changing event — a cancer diagnosis at the age of 48. This challenging chapter in her life became a catalyst for rediscovering her passion for artistic expression.

Much of Catherine’s work is digitally created using an iPad, allowing her to merge traditional techniques with modern technology. Her vibrant prints often feature elements of nature, such as landscapes, wildlife, and botanical motifs, capturing the beauty and serenity of the world around us. Themes of personal growth, resilience, and the deep connections she feels with the environment are interwoven into her pieces, making each work a reflection of her life’s journey.

Catherine now offers a selection of her prints for sale, inviting others to experience the same sense of wonder and peace that she finds in her work. Her art not only celebrates the beauty of nature and travel but also serves as a testament to the healing power of creativity and the importance of embracing life’s second chances.
